Michelle Fearnhead, Adelaide Hills Florist.
Growing up in a 16th century cottage full of old fashion flowers was probably some of the reason why Michelle became a florist. She has worked in the industry for ten years, six of those in her current shop in Stirling.
“It’s a great job and fits around my family – I have five children so I need some flexibility.” One of the special things about her job is preparing flowers for funerals. Michelle feels that flowers can capture who the person was that has passed away. “I know that might sound strange, but I really love being able to give people something that is special at the time. I think flowers bring out the beauty in everything, whether it’s for a happy or sad occasion.”
Away from the business Michelle involves herself with what her children enjoy –“I get a thrill out of doing what my kids like doing. I also love just talking to people, socializing with them. I’d love to have a huge party one day, inviting everyone I’ve ever met and just get to talk to them all!”
