Trevor Gross, Bridgewater Motor Works
Trevor was 16 years old when he began his apprenticeship in Motor Mechanics. Once he had gained some experience in the industry he opened up his own workshop in Bridgewater 21 years ago.
“I like talking to my customers and solving tricky problems that are brought in.”
He has encountered some unusual “problems” during that time – once he found a melted rat on an exhaust manifold. “Rats sleep on the warm engines when it’s cold here in winter. They often get caught up in the system once the car gets started. It’s all part of living in a rural area.”
Trevor is never far away from cars. During his time off, his hobby is 4 wheel driving. He and his wife drove across the Simpson Desert in three days during a nine day outback 4WD holiday recently. “That was great fun. We finished off at the Birdsville Races. I’d love to go back there again – next time when the races aren’t on so I can see what it looks like without all the crowds.”
