Isobel Redmond, Member for Heysen.
Isobel has been the sitting Liberal member for the electoral district of Heysen since 2002. Prior to her election into politics, she was a solicitor and has been very heavily involved in local community activities as can be seen through her parliament profile.
“I like to think I can use my life skills to make a difference – especially in my local community.” Isobel grew up in a family where it was second nature to help others. “Both my parents were heavily involved with lots of community groups. I can remember as a teenager helping take food to the needy. It was something I found very satisfying.” Consequently she has a passion for social justice.
To switch off from her demanding role in politics, Isobel likes to pursue “the simple things in life” – she finds pottering about in her garden, reading or going for a bush walk the kind of activities that help her relax. “I also really enjoy live theatre and time alone to just think.”
