THE VET NURSE
Kristy Gaden, Stirling Veterinary Clinic
Kristy was brought up with animals and so it was an easy decision for her to train as a vet nurse. She has now been doing that for the past 20 years– working in her current job for the last 17 years.
“The greatest joy for me is knowing that we can help an animal and at times save their life. I feel a real bond with animals and love working with them. They generally don’t answer you back either!”
Away from work Kristy isn’t too far from animals. She has bred Papillon dogs since she was 13 years old – many of them winning awards at various shows. In 2000 she went to England for a holiday, mainly to go to the famous dog show at Crufts. Whilst there she did a lot of shopping too – not for her but for her animals!
“I have no life,” she says, “because I show dogs and that takes up all my spare time. Plus I judge dogs in most of Australia, Singapore and New Zealand!”
